I have decided!!!!!
I shall change the background.
Stay tuned!!!!!

Monday, February 2, 2009

I am thinking about changing the background as I think it is hard to read with the sun on the water behind the words.
I am ready to update, but wanted to change it before hand....only problem is when I change it, I loose all of my right hand info...so I have to re-do it. That isn't my concern...it is my followers I worry about.
So what do you think? Keep it as is? or change it?
Not sure if you all find it hard to read like me, so thought I would ask before I make any change .

thanks

FRIENDS ALONG THE WAY
As we came home from church yesterday, I decided like it or not, I was going caching. It has been so long since we have done any caches and I am starting to go thru withdrawl. LOL
So off we went to Chilliwack to do the
Loving All Things Canadian cache.
What a wonderful trail to venture on, and such a variety of birds on the way. I wasn't able to get many pictures (well good ones) of the birds but now have shown Kelly that I need a bird book, as birds facinate me and I am always asking 'what kind of bird is that?'
As we had pulled up to park the van for our trek on the trail to the cache, a gentleman pulled up behind us and off he went ahead. As we arrived at the cache, there was the gentleman with the cache, so we turned our backs and let him finish.
When finished we all introduced ourselves and it was wonderful that we got the chance to meet Moicy. I had seen the name in logs and had never met him, so it was great that we had our chance to do so yesterday. Rainforest Rudy was quite excited to meet Moicy to.

Further down the trail on our way back to the van, we ran into Hellraiser and his family. What a wonderful day to be meeting fellow geocachers on the trail. Geo-pet Milly and their dog had a chance to say their hellos and we made sure that Rainforest Rudy got his picture with everyone there.

Travel T wanted to have his picture with Rainforest Rudy as well, so a picture we did take.

Off to another cache we ventured...hidden by the same geocachers as the previous cache. This one is titled Mother Goose Series - Three Blind Mice
On the way to the cache along the trail, I spotted this bird in the tree above. We sat discussing what type of bird it is...if you know, let me know. I am thinking it is baby eagle, or a teen eagle, but hey, what do I know....lol
I am glad I got this picture though as it shows all parts of the bird well. The head, body and especially the beak.
All in all it was a 3 cache day.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Well I did what I didn't think I would do...I cached in the snow.
A new cache came out and I figured why not try for FTF...unfortunately got STF, but still it was worth it.

The cache is called Frozen Ducksicles put out by TurtleMaintenance.
What an awesome day for a walk around Mill Lake and all the ducks there to greet you. I got some great pictures.

Coming up on the 18th of January, I have an event planned, so stay tuned for the time and place. Will be fun.

Kelly's 700

Wow, Seven Hundred caches and counting! Amazing!

I am not too far behind...about 50 or so.
We went out to Port Coquitlam today and Kelly picked May Dayz to be his 700th Cache. Of course he has to pick the one where we have to get out of the van, stand in the freezing cold wind and count for what seemed like an eternity. We endured it though and the kids had fun.
I was a little sad to come to the first part of this cache during the winter month as I hear it is amazing to see during the summer time. Funny how Kelly's mother lives in this area, as did I at one time and had never seen this little park, and the 'ride' there. Today when giving it a push...squeek and creak it did.
For the second half of the cache we got smart and staying in the van and just drove back and forth to do our counting. Seriously....picture this van going forward along this lane....then backing up....then forward again....then backing up. It was quite the site for a couple of muggles who were admiring the mural. hee hee
After we finished the cache, the day was left for me and all the caches I wished to find, and find we did. With the bitter wind and the daylight fading, we managed to do 7 caches. I am sure we could have done a few more had it not been such a slow start in the am, the fitting of Kelly's glasses, the 'little bit' of shopping I did, and of course, picking up the brakes for the van. Priorities, priorities....lol
We ended the day by visiting Kelly's mother and having a Chinese food feast. I ate, had my glass of wine and basically planted myself in front of the tv, and chatted with Kelly's step dad. I had hoped and thought we were going to Bellingham for a Geocaching event, but plans had changed (much to my surprise).

I am wondering now, after caching on a day like this cold one past, how much more caching we will do. I myself didn't have much of a problem with the cold, but brrrrrrr, it sure can get nippy. As long as the snow stays away, I plan on caching right thru these winter months, as I would like to get my 1000 before April 2009.

Overall, this day of Kelly's 700th was a good one.

Gearhedd's Meet n' Greet Poker Event

We were lucky to attend a poker event this year. When we arrived we were happy to see some new faces and some faces we all ready knew. Unfortunately I didn't get photos of everyone as I was busy chatting and eating...lol

Not everyone stayed for the Poker part of the event and there was 7 of us playing for the championship.

Unfortunately, Grafinator aka Jason was the first one out of the game.
Six left and then Mrs. Jangor aka Jane went out and a few hands after her, I aka Best Red went out.
Only 4 left, and on the game went. The blinds getting bigger and pots rising.
TESKELLY aka Kelly was next to go out, leaving only 3.
Another few hands and Northlang aka Nathan was next to go only leaving 2.

With Gearhedd aka Brad and Mr. Jangor aka Gordon left to battle it out, the game was on. Who would win the pot and also win 4 unactivated coins?
JANGOR! Congratulations!
This was a wonderful event and we look forward to the next one.
Thanks Gearhedd!!!!!!
